We are adding a new first floor master bedroom suite to our home.
Here are a couple preliminary concept drawings ..

The project is moving forward! We have selected a builder (Elite Construction) and start-up plans are being
assembled and approved before any actual construction begins. We anticipate starting the project in a few
weeks, and estimate that the builder will complete work about 6 weeks after that. I plan on doing all the finish
woodworking myself after the base structure is done.

The project has started!! Steve and Wesley setup the strings and set the grade for the digging to begin,
and also notched out the deck to connect to the new wall.

Storing the foundation kit in the garage. Dig site marked. Ready for temporary driveway.

We had to build a temporary driveway to allow heavy machinery in without crossing our blacktop. We then
had the backhoe operator pickup my maple and oak logs and put them in Steve's trailer. I will have them
processed into lumber next week. The back yard was 'expanded' a bit and the black dirt scraped from the dig
site was spread back there. We dug the basement hole, but the next morning found a bit of water in the pit.
The basement dig was completed and rock was spread to help control the water. A lift pit was dug for
the eventual new basement bath and a temporary sump pump was put in it to drain the water from the pit.

Foundation is poured and drying. Framing starts next week.
They first poured stone into the flooring area and around the outside perimeter for drainage.
Then they made 3 passes around the form with concrete, struck it off, and installed bolts.

Sill gasket and plate installed. Bracing removed.

Finally got the vanity out of my workshop (yay!!)
and installed.
Floor tile in bath and walk-in closet are down. Shower wall tile is
well
on its way to completion.
